Margaret Battye is an Yorkshire artist working mainly in Ink Resist. Ink resist paintings have a unique surface texture. They can be fairly smooth and matte (depending upon how much paint was applied) and can appear a little shabby or unrefined. Her paintings are taken from everyday life painted slightly abstract with pure colour.
